Notes on End

I wish Notes on End had a backstory. However, let me offer a revelation.

It didn’t take me long after moving to Canada as a teenager to realize that, all of a sudden, the word “you” no longer referred to a single person but to “you” as a people. I took an amusing interest in what people decided “us” meant. From polite to absurd to downright puzzling.

The same goes for giving an object its form, its name, and its use, and thus determining what it is. In doing so, we find ourselves in the slough of making, unmaking, making, and unmaking. Perchance a shape, a name, a use, or an obscure meaning reveals itself, relieving the object of nullity or returning it. End. On End.
